Policy Area Tourism

Background

Policy area tourism is one among currently 13 policy areas tackling thematic fields of action within an integrative framework tackling the current and future challenges of the Baltic Sea region – The EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. The graphic provides an overview of the Strategy’s Action Plan, which defines the overall objectives, policy areas as well as horizontal actions. Tourism was assigned to the “Increase prosperity” objective, mainly because of its assumed economic potential for the region.
