Nr.37  | 14.09.2016  | EUSBSR  | EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Tourism

The Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme has published the list of concept notes accepted for filing a full application in the second step of the Programme’s second call. Unfortunately, PA Tourism flagship VIABAL 2.0 – Routes to the Baltic Maritime Heritage – Increasing Visibility and Accessibility was rejected. This result will be discussed with the project manager during the upcoming Steering Group meeting back to back to the 9th Baltic Sea Tourism Forum in Pärnu | Estonia.

VIABAL 2.0 had applied under Priority 2 “Efficient management of natural resources”, specific objective 2.4 “Resource efficient blue growth”. Four projects were selected under specific objective 2.4, which also relates to coastal and maritime tourism as one of the blue growth sectors with clear economic potential:

Baltic Sea Blue Routes: Promoting Sustainable Underwater Heritage Tourism

Biomanipulation Based Fisheries and Water Management

Baltic Sea Region Integrated Maritime Cultural Heritage Management

Development, promotion and sustainable management of the Baltic Sea Region as a coastal fishing tourism Destination.

PA Tourism supported the project RETROUT with a letter of commitment, mainly because of their integrated, multilevel governance approach.
