Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme opens 2nd call

Nr.32  | 04.03.2016  | EUSBSR  | EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Tourism

The 2nd call of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region is open since 1 March 2016. Concept notes can be handed in until 1 June 2016.

The timeline of all steps of the call are as follows:

Step 1: Concept notes

Call open, step 1: 1 March – 1 June 2016

Selection of concept notes: September 2016

Step 2: Application

Call open, step 2: September 2016 – January 2017

Selection of projects for funding: May 2017

All the documents can be downloaded on the Interreg Baltic Sea Region website (see Source).

During the last call no tourism projects have been approved. Supposedly, this is primarily attributable to the priorities of the programme: (1) Capacity for innovation, (2) Efficient management of natural resources, (3) Sustainable transport, which make explicit funding of tourism focused projects difficult. Consequently, more implicit approaches may be required.
