Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme opens 2nd call

Nr.32  | 04.03.2016  | EUSBSR  | EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Tourism

The 2nd call of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region is open since 1 March 2016. Concept notes can be handed in until 1 June 2016.

The timeline of all steps of the call are as follows:

Step 1: Concept notes

Call open, step 1: 1 March – 1 June 2016

Selection of concept notes: September 2016

Step 2: Application

Call open, step 2: September 2016 – January 2017

Selection of projects for funding: May 2017

During the last call no tourism projects have been approved. Supposedly, this is primarily attributable to the priorities of the programme: (1) Capacity for innovation, (2) Efficient management of natural resources, (3) Sustainable transport, which make explicit funding of tourism focused projects difficult. Consequently, more implicit approaches may be required.
